The term “Chemical” when used in relation to your face can seem a little daunting. But, when talking about chemical peels, we are really talking about naturally occurring acid peels. Glycolic acid is derived from sugar and salicylic acid , like that found in the B Lift complex used at the Skin Clinic, is essentially derived from sodium, or salt.
A chemical peel consists of an application of one of these acids to gently exfoliate the top layer of the skin and promote collagen production.
Chemical peeling is used to treat:
- Fine Lines
- Mild Scarring
- Certain types of Acne
- Sun Spots, Age Spots, Liver Spots
- Skin that is dull in Texture and Color
- Sun-Damaged Skin
- Scaling Patches
At the Skin Clinic, we utilize both glycolic and salicylic acid peels. During your thorough evaluation, we will assess your condition and determine which chemical peel program is right for you.
